As chief executive officer for the Board, the Superintendent performs the functions and duties described by the Georgia Board of Education. Providing administrative leadership, the Superintendent oversees instructional services, student support services, school-community relations, and the business and operational affairs of the school district.

Working with parents, the Board of Education, and the community, the Superintendent promotes the many accomplishments of our students and the school system. On a day-to-day basis, the administrative offices are here to support the school staffs and to help them to remain strong as they provide opportunities for our children to continue to grow.

In the fall of 2006, our school district developed a comprehensive Strategic Plan that is designed to guide the district over the next five years. The Plan is currently being implemented and will be reviewed and modified, if necessary, on an annual basis. The Board of Education subsequently adopted six (6) major goals that coincide with the Plan. Vision Project
At their meeting in March 2011, the Board of Education adopted a resolution declaring our support of the work of the Vision Project, a partnership between the Georgia School Boards Association and the Georgia School Superintendents Association working to improve the education culture in the state of Georgia.
