 Psychological Services

 

​Working as part of the Department of Community and Student Support,  school psychologists are specialists who provide a variety of psychological services throughout the district that include assessment, consultation, behavioral support counseling, crisis intervention, academic remediation, community outreach, and the development of preventative programs. With the exception of the lead psychologist, staff are housed within one of the schools that they serve.

RCPS school psychologists play an integral role in the evaluation of special education students, but also routinely provide support services to all students in in Rockdale County. RCPS school psychologists have diverse backgrounds and expertise, but all of them maintain certification in the area of school psychology and are decided to serving the district and community.

Annually, school psychologists average the following: 200 psychological evaluations, 200 parent conferences, 1000 RTI/SST meetings, 200 student observations to collect behavioral data, 850 teacher consultations, 700 administrator consultations, and 300 special education meetings.
